I heard something like this once from a legislative staffer “we never understood the impact of leave time for families until two things happened: swine flu and the storm that shut us down. Suddenly, no one could come to work because of a sick child; or, because school hadn’t started up yet though we were working in the office. Staffers brought kids to work or stayed home. It just really impacted us more than we ever imagined.”

So, there. It takes a dramatic SOMETHING to notice.

Just wanted elevate what happened in Jersey City, and make folks aware that this can happen….and it won’t make everyone happy, but it might just help more of us to stay well.
